Vail Legacy Weekend + A 1938 Broadmoor–Cheyenne Toll Road Ticket
A 1938 toll road ticket from the Broadmoor–Cheyenne Mountain Highway was cataloged into the archives this week, along with another ticket that was likely used with it on the same trip.






This road is located in Colorado Springs above the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo. It leads to the Will Rogers Shrine of the Sun and the Broadmoor Cloud Camp. The upper half is a dirt road now.
These “souvenir tickets” were actually the top half of the full toll road ticket. The bottom portion was the part that gave visitors access to the road.

Vail Legacy Weekend - Feb. 28 to March 1

This weekend is Vail Legacy Weekend. Vail was founded by Pete Seibert, a soldier in the 10th Mountain Division.
There will be tributes to the 10th Mountain Division, a display of WWII vehicles, a parade, fireworks, music, the Troopers Cup soldier competition, and more.
