1947 Cheyenne Mountain Toll Road Tickets (Stamped, Intact) + 1980s Cottonwood Pass Slides
Known as the Broadmoor-Cheyenne Mtn. Highway at the time, this road ascends Cheyenne Mountain, not far from the NORAD facility in Colorado Springs.
Added to the collection this week: a pair of toll road tickets from the Cheyenne Mountain Highway.
Stamped tickets from this toll road aren't rare, but unused ones with the bottom stub still intact are much less common. How these tickets got stamped while still retaining the bottom stub is a mystery.

1983 & 1985 Cottonwood Pass Continental Divide Sign Slides
These slides were among the first to be cataloged into the archives, but the only images uploaded to the website were the ones that came through the slide scanner. Now, it is time to start photographing the actual slides, rather than the images on the slides.
Here they are seen on a light table with the backlight off, and then with the backlight on in the next photo.
Here’s what the full-resolution, uncropped versions look like when they come out of the slide scanner. The second one has had some auto white balance applied to the image. Both are shown here at a much higher resolution than what’s available on the website.
See the permanent pages within the archives for each slide below.
