Colorado Weekend Events, 1980 Aspen Centennial Token
In this week's newsletter: A 1980 Aspen Centennial token that was minted by the Aspen Rotary Club, and weekend events in the mountains.
Aspen Mountain first opened for skiing during the winter of 1946-47. This token shows the front side of the mountain before the Silver Queen Gondola was added in 1986. The chairlift that can be seen here in that spot, ascending along a slightly different path from the base was simply called Lift No. 4.
