Vintage Berthoud Pass Lift Ticket + This Weekend’s Mountain Festivals
This week's newsletter features an old lift ticket from the Berthoud Pass Ski Area, Independence Pass slides, upcoming weekend festivals in the mountains, and CO travel deals.
Updates to the Coloradotopia Archives Collection this week included cataloging an early lift ticket from Berthoud Pass. These tickets were used by foot passengers riding the double chairlift during the summer.
This ticket came with a batch of photographs that were captured at the bottom of the chairlift. The first image below shows a sign that includes the lift ticket prices ($1 for adults and $0.50 for children). The vehicle shown in the third photo is a 1949 Mercury Eight, so the lift ticket has been given a “circa 1950s” label for now.
