Winter Park Opening Day, Early 1950s Berthoud Pass Sign
Winter Park is open, and another Berthoud Pass slide from the 1950s has been cataloged into the archives.
This Kodak Kodachrome slide from Berthoud Pass was scanned and cataloged into the archives this week. The graffiti allows this to be roughly dated to the summer of 1951. It has been given the “circa 1951” label for now, until the date can be confirmed with more certainty.

Winter Park Opens Today
Winter Park is the third ski resort to open in Colorado this year. Keystone was the first, where skiers and riders hit the slopes with only a few hours’ notice on Saturday, Oct. 25th. Arapahoe Basin opened the next day.
